I have a case ih 1200. I have my vac set for 18 pounds and it is very erratic....it will range from 14 to 23 pounds and it will move 8 or 9 pounds in 2 or 3 seconds.....what could the problem be?

Pto or tractor hydraulics?

Have you checked for leaks?

Check the rubber cap right above the vac sensor. Ours cracked.

Edit: can you hear the fans surge? Does your seed graph move at all?

I'll check that and you can definitely hear the fan surge.

Check the cap as he said and check for any corrosion on the contacts of the sensor. Also I would suggest taking the sensor out and LIGHTLY tapping in on a plastic surface. Sometimes they can get filled with fine dust and cause issues. The dust will fall out when you tap the sensor. Beyond that it's always possible a small filing is restricting oil flow in the solenoid. Guessing it's sensor related.

I had the exact problem at startup this season. After checking all sensor/electrical possibilities, finally changed the solenoid valve. Fixed it instantly. Must of been hanging up, and the surging was the result of overcompensating itself. Good luck
