It could be the cold start sensor, had a few irrigation engines that blow the fuse when it got warmed up, until it gets warm the injection pump is on cold start and then the sensor changes the injection pump to run normal and that is when the fuse blows because the sender grounds out. Look at hte pictures it is on the thermostat housing.
I think Tom is on the right track. Had a 6410 do the exact same thing back in the day. Don't have it now, so can't go look at it. However,in my case, it wasn't the sensor in the thermostat housing, but rather the solenoid on the injector pump. (IIRC, the sensor in the thermostat housing was connected with this solenoid. It was called a cold start advance(solenoid) or something similar. Tractor would run fine cold, but would blow a fuse and shut down as soon as it warmed up. (This was about 5 years ago, so the details are getting fuzzy) IIRC, the solenoid was at the end of the injector pump toward the cab, and was in a vertical position. ( Had a small stud and nut with two wires??)
If someone would post a picture of the injector pump, l could point it out. Sorry for my poor memory!!
Hope this helps, post back with your results!!
Good luck! |
