central - east central Minnesota -

Anyone have one of these ? If so, how would they compare to Gator's and other UTV's ?

Uncle had one I road on back in the early 70's . . . . seemed to be pretty go, but I assume totally different today ?

I can't say I know much about them but I always assumed they were slower than a Gator or a Ranger. My grandpa had one back in I'm guessing the 60's (well before my time) and he took it moose hunting in Canada. I've seen the old video of that hunt where it is going through some nasty back country swamp and never got stuck. Perfect vehicle for what he used it for, but I've never seen one on a farm in my neck of the woods.

Embarrass WI
There used to be one in our neighborhood. After Rangers became available the Pug became less desirable due to not having any suspension. The one around here never gave the owner any trouble, but it was slow and rough riding compared to the Ranger he replaced it with.

We have a couple Pugs...They are tough as nails and are made to work. No suspension and only go about 25mph. Great for hauling wood out of the forest and calves out of the pasture.

Here is my pug. I love it and I would buy another in a heartbeat. Its light but heavy duty ( I think its rated for a 2200lbs load ). It uses a kohler engine, dana axles, ford breaks, and a spicer trans. You can buy almost anything you need for parts from any auto parts store. Yes its slow (25mph) and the only suspension is a set of springs and rubber bushings on the seat section. Wow will it haul and go thru some stuff that most utvs wont. The articulating steering make it very nimble in the woods and very hard to get stuck in the mud. I am a maple syrup producer so I need something that is light and will haul a big load on very soft ground and the pug doe's just that. With this trailer attached and 7- 30 gallon barrels I can float 210 gallons of sap across places you sometimes cant walk.
