Subject: series parallel switch.

Wisconsin
We have a 68 kW with 24v series parallel switch. When we hit the start button the series parallel switch just clicks or buzz constantly. I took the wire from the parallel switch that sends signal to tell starter to turn and put in a toggle switch to try and bypass the parallel switch. I got the starter to turn over but it kicks out breaker or relay. Does anyone know how to bypass the parallel switch? Or can I even do that? Please help were trying to finish up corn and need this truck as our only other truck will have to be hauling corn out of bins to make room.
Thanks!

just put a MT 40 on it use a couple 12 volt in parallel

if a cummings, it would have a decompression lever ,to help get it to roll over

My 62 will start at 30 with one battery because of the decompression lever

I have a buddy I help part time, and he has close to a dozen old vintage KWs. the 1970 with the cummins has the series/ parallel switch act up. we got through harvest pulling the decompression lever, and then he found a new switch on ebay, and it has been running flawless since.

If everything has worked fine till now, I would honestly put a new switch on and keep it as is. 3-4 of my buddy's KWs have the switch, and this is the first one to act up, it is a pretty reliable system IMO.
