Anyone got an app or chart they use to know when to run the fans?

Over 60% humidity run em, under 60 shut em off for corn.   Beans, nothing over 60%       Might not be perfect but has worked for me.

Why do you run them when humidity is over 60 %? Seems backwards

A good bin can be busted at the walkin door by running the fan when corn is nearly dry and humidity is wet...to Ed.

I hear you Dave.  As late as corn harvest will be here I don't think I will come close to that problem.

The fans will run and run and we will core often.

Google equilibrium moisture moisture content. As a general rule, if moisture is not excessively high and you want to dry,run fan at under 60%humidity. If moisture is excessive run fan or it will get hot. If grain is dry, run fan at night to cool. Some people and equipment manufacturers put grain in and run fan until grain is dry, regardless of outside conditions and this method works also.

I use an Iphone app called Hygro. It just shows what the current humidity is at your location. If needed I'll run them under 50 or 60% and shut the fans off if over 60.
