We have been having an engine fault code come up and the tractor derates in power majorly. The code is 3141 and it is telling us that our fuel set point is too low. We changed fuel filters, drained the tank, and changed the pump solenoid and we are still having problems. Any other suggestions would be great.

Thanks for the responses. I will also add that we can not get it to act up while on the dyno, but if you run it in the field for an hour it will flash the fault again. Then you reset it and it may be fine for two hours or it might flash the fault again in 100 feet. There's no pattern what so ever.

That makes it sound like there's a good probability of it being in the harness.
But then again, air ingress problems can come and go too in a similar sporadic fashion.

I had a 315 fault intermittently for low fuel pressure and the connector was loose in the rail pressure sensor. Unfortunately it is under the valve cover and a pain to get to.

matt what did you find on your 3141 code, i have a 340 doing the same thing, my fuel pressure drops to 38 psi and then faults. i checked all the wiring and changed filters for the third time. i cannot get it to act up on the dyno but take it to field and it acts up within a half hour. just currious what you found?

Check the 90° elbow on the pre filter behind the fuel tank. I have seen the elbow on the in side of that filter have plastic shavings (from the tank) get in that elbow and cause restriction in the system. Under hard pulls the pump can't get enough fuel to keep the pressure up.

Ditto. Had a new 315 with plastic chips in the tank last year.
This is a sample of the chips I flushed out of the tank.

Just put a new harness in a 340 last week... Wiring was rubbed through up by pump. New harness is improved design also. Same code was coming up intermittently

Thank you for the reply!!!!
When the Case tech came I told him about the possible issue with the harness and sure enough, after opening the conduit, several areas of the wires had rubbed each other bare. Mainly up by the Y that sits on pump. But even the wires going to the crank shaft sensor were bare in spots. He said when the engine control module can't see crank shaft revolutions, it doesn't fire the injectors at the proper time. Anyhow, we taped up all the wires individually so they couldn't short and I have a properly working tractor again.
