Subject: acre per hour chart

Anyone know of a spreadsheet or chart that will calculate acres per hour with different speed and equipment width as variables?

Thanks

MPH X Width in feet X .1212 = Acres/Hour

or mphx5280xwidthxefficiency(i like to use .9 to account for turns)/43560

We always figure feet x mph = what you can get done in a 10 hour day.

Its not accurate as far as acres/hour at this exact moment. It kind of accounts for turning around, piss breaks, rocks.

Someone told me at 15' (6 row) kilometers per hour is close to acres per hour.

Embarrass WI
I always use width in feet x miles per hour / Ten

Example 20 feet wide x 7 mph = 140 divided by 10 = 14 Acres per hour

This allows about 15-18% efficiency loss, it's not exactly accurate but works out pretty close in the real world.

This formula was one of the first things I learned off the internet "way back when". Give the credit to Plowboy.

Central Il Morton
Width x mph /10 was used back in horse days and still is pretty accurate today.
good luck

Send me an email if this attachment doesn't work, running Microsoft excel on windows 7. Made this up last summer. Plug in your numbers and it'll spit out the data. Went to tractordata.com to figure out the fuel consumption along with my own records.

Scroll down and download the machinery economics. You can put in your own data.

quick and easy is (speed x width)/8.25. That is for 100% field efficiency but just multiply by your true field efficiency % and you should be dang close.

Don't forget efficiency changes as field length changes.

I'm only about a decade late but we've made an online calculator and lookup chart for just this. Anything you think we should change or add? The calculator is here: https://www.thecalculatorking.com/calculators/farming/acres-per-hour...
