Subject: Aftermarket front 3 pt. & PTO

sw mb.
Readers of the Western Producer may have noticed an article about aftermarket front 3 pt. & PTOs. This got me wondering if anyone on Agtalk has any experience with them. I'm particularly interested in Zuidberg Frontlink and Laforge Frontpower. Does anyone have any info, good bad or ugly?

We have two Zuidbergs on 8940 Magnums. Very happy with them.

Here another nod for Zuidbergs! Years of use and abuse on sets of triple mowers and not a lick of trouble.

Does anyone make one that will fit on a 8870 8970 FNH with super steer? I have seen some that mount to the front axel. Don't like that for pushing looks like a lot stress on front axes.

There are blade mounts that have worked well on super steers if that is what you are after. If you want a true 3pt though i am not sure.

Thanks, cheap solution for tractors we had little use for otherwise because they're too slow on the road and have too much power and not enough weight.

They work great on the mowers. Sure a new Fendt is nicer but the magnums aren't too bad. The cooling system wasn't designed for it though but otherwise they've been good.

I have a laforge front hitch and PTO on a 7930 and 2 laforge hitches on 2 7230Rs. One is the standard hitch and the other one is the heavy duty one, it also has a PTO.

They work really well, fold up when not in use and so problems with them.

Zuidberg front hitches and PTO's have been around for a lot of years. We had one in Europe on a 93 Same Explorer II 90 (sold here as Agco Allis 6690). We a very well build unit. Zuidberg builds a lot of units also for factory installs. I have no experience with Laforge, who has been the supplier for Deere for quite a few years.

I'm not familiar with Zuidberg's presence in the US/CAN for support but LaForge has facilities in California and Iowa.

Haven't needed them but our dealer is local.

cropdude - 12/29/2013 19:29

How would one of those work on a snowblower?

Perfect but you need a 1000 RPM blower which is less common on the used market.
