Monitor is showing an e2 11 code which I'm told is the wrap actuator. I checked connections & they are good. I put 12v to the2 pin metri pak connector on motor & it ran for a second . Is this motor or actuator the problem or shuld I be looking elsewhere.

That is a big no-no. I've seen more than one monitor fried after someone ran wires from the battery to the actuator. You need to use the channels to check the voltage. It's very critical to have a good power supply running to the monitor.

That is what service manager said to do. The baler is out of the loop. Just running the actuator. It went in and out a hslf dozen times with 12v & has stopped again.

Would you mind telling me the proper things to check. We have hay on the ground & moisture coming.

The book tells you how to go in and check the channels, functions, of each señor or actuator on the baler. What tractor are you running the baler on and where are you getting power. More than likely your actuator is bad, but here are the

Testing Net Wrap Actuator Current (Channel 018)

NOTE: Channel 018 allows operator use of EXTEND and RETRACT keys to position net actuator for service.

This test is used to determine the working condition of the actuator through its entire range of operation.

To test actuator (motor and linkage):

1. Turn tractor key to ON position. Do not start tractor engine.
2. With monitor-controller in NET mode, press and hold COUNTER key (A) while turning monitor-controller ON.

3. Continue to hold COUNTER key and press PLUS key until "CH 018" appears in digital display.

4. Release COUNTER key; digital display will change to show actuator static current flow reading of "0" to "1".

5. Use EXTEND and RETRACT keys (B) and (C) to operate actuator in both directions. Display should show a current flow reading between "1" and "8" while actuator motor is operating during mid stroke (no load).

Below normal readings indicate low tractor voltage, or poor or corroded harness connections
Above normal readings indicate binding linkage or partially shorted motor windings
Current spike reading indicates mechanical obstruction to linkage
NOTE: Net wrap actuator is at full stroke position when actuator is fully extended.

6. Continue to operate actuator to full stroke position. Display should show stall ( load ) current reading between "20" and "30".

Below normal reading indicates bad or corroded harness connections
Above normal reading indicates partially shorted motor windings or actuator binding

7. Press EXTEND or RETRACT keys to move counterknife to "home" position.
8. Turn monitor-controller OFF. Turn tractor key to OFF position. Remove key.

What is the net mode. I'm new to this. Going to see if I can find the book.

Testing Tractor Convenience Outlet Voltage (Channel 019)

Complete the following check to determine if the convenience outlet provides adequate power to the BaleTrak ™ Pro system.

1. Start tractor engine.
2. Press and hold COUNTER key (A) while turning monitor-controller ON.

3. Continue to hold COUNTER key and press PLUS key (D) until "CH 019" appears in the digital display.

4. Release COUNTER key and view voltage readout.

5. Using EXTEND key (C), extend twine actuator slightly.

6. Push and hold RETRACT key (B) until actuator stalls out in the cutoff position and note voltage displayed during first four seconds after stalling.

Specification

Convenience Outlet -Voltage (Minimum) 9.7 V
7. If voltage is less than specifications, install Convenience Outlet Kit AE50549. Only this kit should be used to provide a convenience outlet due to wire size, (12 ga), lack of splices, and a 30 amp circuit breaker included in this kit. When installing this kit, attach power and ground wires directly to battery terminal clamp bolts, only. (See TRACTOR CONVENIENCE OUTLET in Preparing the Tractor section.)

CAUTION: Convenience outlet is wired directly to battery. Turning off tractor key will not disconnect power to monitor.

8. Turn monitor-controller OFF. Turn off tractor engine and remove key.

Where are you hooking up to get power?

For the monitor itself or when I was trying to get actuator to work.

Monitor shows 14v whdn I do the second step you posted. Using the ext & ret buttons changes nothing. On the first step (channel 18) it displays 0s & again the buttons change nothing.

Have you checked where your baler harness hooks to your monitor harness? I would also check the voltage at the plug at the actuator to check voltage.

Found the problem. The 2 pin metri-pak plug for normal or bypass operation came unplugged behind the seat.
