Read a lot about swapping hubs and stuff to budd or hub, but not really interested in that cost. I see a truck I can use for a sprayer, but it has those california, dayton, spoke, or whatever they are, wheels. Is it possible to attach larger tractor size rims to them? How would you go about this?

They are available somewhere because my neighbor buys single axle trucks and makes floaters out of them for spreading lime and fertilizer and they both have the Dayton Wheels or Cast Spoke wheels.

Talk to a good Ag tire and or Ag rim dealer they should know. A lot of them around here on floaters years ago. If you convert to bud hubs rims from a gleaner combine will bolt right on.

Start with a rim like that. Keep the part that touches the cast spoke center. Weld new wheel to the present truck wheel. I have many of the tube type rims that would be good for cutting up to make the center. It takes sort of a rotary table to make wheels that turn out round. Not terribly precision work. If you get within .100", that would be acceptable. But they can't break.

We always sent them to a machine shop to have them cut, center section welded in, then sand blast and paint when we got them back. Never had one to fail... Material that was welded into the center was much heavier that the wheel/rim itself. By doing this you can build them exactly like you want.

Mostly I am looking to find out how it is done. I have some tires on wheels already, but they are for stud pilot budd hubs. I may just keep looking for a truck with budds, but this truck is just right other than the spokes.
