Have a neighbor who pulled a 12 row planter for four years with a 125MX I believe it was before swapping to a 6xxx NH. I liked the Kubota myself, and thought the cab was head and shoulders above the NH.

Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums.
There are a lot of them in orchards. I never see them in high draft situations. They appear to have small differentials and final drives compared to their counterparts. They don't offer one big enough for us. But the hippie 15 acre estate people with horses sure like them.... which is reason enough for me to avoid them. I love getting in line at the parts counter behind a horse girl who needs a quart of genuine Kubota oil for her Kubota 27 hp tractor that gets 27 hrs per year.

Yup, my thoughts exactly.............Then they tell you how great they are, well shoot, put more hours on our lawn mower in one year than most of them do in 3. They should hold up.

I personally like how light they are, and the cabs are next thing to an abortion. Landlord has a Mx135 I believe it is, every time we borrow it, we end up laughing for 3 days over the "Integrated Loader Joystick".................It looks like they bought a ton of cheap valves from Surplus Center in Neb. and just put them in. So you got this big valve with a long straight handle just sticking out.............Who cares about how useable or comfortable it is, its there. Also love the hydraulic valve that are located more behind the seat than in front of it, and the couplers on the back makes my 1456 with 66 series blocks look modern. I can't imagine if the rear end case is a small as it is, how the pto would ever hold up for more than a spin spreader. I'd rather have a well kept 8000 hr 4020 over a new Kubota for sure.

Depends on what she looks like... that could be a major selling point... ;) I'd probably rather visit with her than talk to someone who looks like any of us.

Wait a minute.. I just read a thread here why using oem oil for your equipment was the ONLY way to do it. Has to be oem oil or else it would lock up, burn up, flip over or something even worse.

Btw, we use non oem oil. Nothing bad has happened so far and we put lots of hours on things in a years time.

Lots of them around here, mainly 50-90 hp loader tractors but some that get used hard every day and some have been around a while so they seem to like them

One vegetable guy around here has one. He plows in the spring and works ground with it. last year it broke whole rear end axial housing going down the road, I'm pretty sure that when it broke it bent the cab up also. We have had terrible luck with our Kubota Zero Turn lawn mowers. Your lucky if you can get 800hrs out of a HYD pump. The last one which was the "updated" version lasted a whole 200hrs. There will never be another Kubota piece of equipment on this farm. I have never had an experience with any of their products that aren't complete junk. There is no way that I would want to rely on one of their tractors for actual farm work.

The local Kubota dealer also farms. He runs all Green out in his fields. I have a Kubota L3450 and it's been a good tractor but I wouldn't want to spend all day on it.

A few in the hay operations around here pulling round balers.  Most though are loader tractors.  I personally know of a guy running one that is making a living off the hay, and he likes the tractor.

"But the hippie 15 acre estate people with horses sure like them.... which is reason enough for me to avoid them." How do you feel about former Marine Viet Nam Vets that own them? When I went looking for a 90 horse tractor, Kubota was the only one who made the whole tractor. The other brands had engines and drive trains sourced from all over and it changed by year. My neighbors who bleed blue said if want to get a tractor and just use it get a Kubota. Of course I'm not a real farmer, I just raise cows.

Being a Vet myself, and a cattle farmer as well as grains, I sympathize with where you're coming from. At less than 300 acres of grain and 50 head of cattle, I'm not big enough on either radar for too many people to think much of my opinion or stance on anything. Funny thing is, I've probably turned more wrenches in the past few years than my bigger acreage counterparts, as there's no such thing as "warranty work" at my size operation!

Neighbor bought one, also a VET and the main reason he bought it was HE CLAIMS that it was the only tractor in that size that was built in the USA. He also pulls a 16 row planter with it. mx135

Sorry man, if you've had good success with yours, then more power to you. In all fairness, I don't like ANY brand of little tractors these days. If I had to pick a little 90 hp tractor, I guess it would be a Deere. I am mostly a red guy, but I like the mid range Deeres. If I needed a little tractor I'd get an old 2440 or 2030. They were simple and durable. I despise Kubotas. And you have to admit, the vast majority of Kubotas are on little estates that will never work them much.

A lot of them have been going into vineyards around here getting 1000+ hours per year. Fuel usage is the main selling point, but some of the owners also tell me that you don't want to own a Kubota outside of warranty. That was enough to sell my on my new JD 5083E when I traded the JD 5225 in a couple months ago. Friend bought a Kubota of similar size for the same job as my 5083E so we can compare tractors.

I run a M125X in our operation. The Kubota does all of our planting, pulling a Lely Roterra on the 3pt /PTO, a ring roller, Case IH 5300 drill, and another ring roller. It does great. It also has a 12 foot box scraper on it from time to time. It used to run one of our three rakes, but I got a smaller one to keep the hours off of the larger one. I have pulled a 12 foot disc, to the axles, with 24" blades and a four bottom rollover plow. We don't use the small tillage equipment too often because we have a few 200 and 300 hp tractors with larger equipment. I know of many diaries here in CA, who don't baby their tractors that have 10,000 plus hours on them. So far, I have not had issues for the warranty besides a blown stereo speaker and a hood that faded. My tractor only has a little over 2000 hours and no issues the past three years out of warranty.

We have 2 neighbours with M120's they have the steel fuel tanks, both have stress cracks and leaks withing 900 hours, front diff is the size of a 60hp NA tractor, One of them has been replaced already, I see the newer ones are plastic tanks, Just remember they are 125 ENGINE HP

I know here in CA, Kubota has more market share than any other color in the 60-99 hp range. It is due to orchards, vineyards, and dairies.

As far as picking out problems, all colors have them. I think Hesston /MF makes a great 3 string baler, but my neighbor has had two of his 3 fuel tanks burst open in less than 1000 hours.

Another guy has run a 3x4 NH BB960 big baler behind his Kubota since 2008 and it is doing fine. Heck, I broke my drawbar on my 8970 NH Genesis this year with my Krone behind it. I still think my 8970 is a good tractor.

NHbb960 behind a kubota?????

How many bales does he do in a year????

NH recomends min 120pto hp for that size baler

Sometimes it's not the horsepower that is needed for the equipment that drives the recommendation, but it's the size/weight/stability of the tractor with that rating that makes the combination safe and effective.
I've seen several accidents and near misses around here that were caused by a tractor with poor traction or stability in a bad situation on the road or in a hilly field.

I don't disagree about more than just the horsepower and size / weight relationship. I wouldn't think of hooking my big baler up to the Kubota. I was just using it as an example of the tractor standing up to the use. I am not really friends with him, but I would say by looking at his barns, he puts up somewhere between 1500-2000 tons of hay per year.
