Were they an old Case combine painted blue and white? Seems like somoene told me they were made for ford by someone. It doesn't resemble a white or oliver to me but perhaps they are the originals?

As far as I remember they were Claus made.
We had a Ford dealer in the area who got stuck with 2 that a guy bought with the idea he would make a fortune doing custom harvesting in corn and soybeans.
The dealer ran them for 3-4 years to get his money back doing custom work.
They really did a good job and were very reliable. Way ahead of the JD or IH combines in the area.

Found the E-bay sale, pretty low hours for that old (if it's accurate). Bidding hasn't reached $1,000 yet. Located Tulsa. No pic of the header. Would you even be able to get parts?

Dan...
Neighbor still uses one just like the picture you just posted. Dont know what the model number was though. It was actually the first self propelled combine to come into our area back in the 50's or 60's. My great uncle would have been the Ford dealer here in town, and the farmer bought the combine with the agreement that my great uncle would furnish him a place to store it in the winter. A big lean-to shed was put on the back of the building to store the machine then.
Man.... the guy often said he though he had the world by the tail when he bought that machine... not much by todays standards.
No corn head for it, only grain..... not very wide either.... 8foot cut maybe?

We have a Ford 611 in very good condition on our family farm. It's a rare old piece of machinery, and a fun conversation piece. :) cowboyseven11@gmail.com

I always thought they were an american version of an early Claas. Don't know why I think that but it don't look American design. Doesn't look like any Case to me. And yes, they did use Oliver design, but that was later than what this is. I do have to say that's an interesting unloading auger design for back then having the grain go down instead of straight out like the rest at that time.

The unloading auger design alone would pin it on Claas. There were a few of them around this general area, but I've only ever seen two up close.
As with most other things, Claas does tend to pioneer many designs that come to be accepted about 20 years later by everyone else.

We have a neighbor, that's a hobby farmer, and he uses one. It's been in our area since new. The neighbor is a retired machinist/mechanic, so he can keep it running.

My uncle used to have one for years. He was a pretty hard worker. Worked full time in a factory with a lot of overtime and farmed 200 acres of conventional tillage on lots of wet ground entirely by himself. Dad and I still wonder how he did all the juggling around taking loads to the elevator and planting by himself.

Claas developed this design from 1970 on. The 85 came out 1974. It´s a healthy design that was continuously developed until the present time. You could call it the Lexion´s grandfather :-) Above picture shows a header attachment for straight cutting canola .
My own combine is a Dominator 88S (1991 model) (below)

Here is the model 105 which we bought prior to the 1975 harvest. Harvesting Red Fescue here in 1975.
I wonder whether it was also sold by Ford.
It was a super harvester for its time. And, as things turned out, it proved to be a very ruggedly built machine. The sturdiest harvester I have operated to this day. My best description: Bulletproof.
My only complaint was the huge consumption of lubricating oil by its Mercedes engine. Around 5 quarts in 10 hours and it did not change any during the 2200 hours we operated it.

There are a few located in SW PA. I caught one behind an old Ford dealer in Donegal, PA. I have seen a bunch behind Forresters NH in Chambersburg, PA. They had about 6 junkers and one that looked like it ran. This is the one behind Forresters I took last spring.

That is the sharpest looking Ford combine I have seen in 25 years. There is one from that era parked outside near a farmstead along I-55 right South of Route 136 in IL . I can't help but look for it whenever I travel that way. I don't know if it has been used lately. thanks for the photo.

Already put this on the other post, but I'll put it here too, in case anyone is interested. I know where there is a blue Ford combine in the weeds in NE MS.
