| We have one at the prison farm where I work, and another prison farm has one too. You can get parts but they take a while and are expensive. We have a lot of trouble with ours but when we had a good mechanic who went over it like should be done it wasn't bad. I do know the big gearbox has been rebuilt or replaced at least every other year. We do about 3500 tons a year and between the Heston and a 5440 Jd self propelled we almost always have one in the shop.
I will say the manuals are very hard to read and the corn head sucks in short corn. It will chop heavy first cut hay at 9.5 mph. we had a lot of trouble with the kernal processor last year. We were looking at buying a rotary head but now they are talking about trading the whole mess for a real chopper, a new holland.
All in all if you need to chop more than 1000 tons I would pass.
Do a search, I think I have posted about ours before.
