Alberta, Canada | We're having a bit of trouble with the factory autosteer in our New Holland T9060 (TJ 4wd tractor). It has the factory Intellisteer system with a NavII controller, an Intelliview IV display, and a 252 receiver on Omnistar XP.
When we first turn the tractor on, the auto-steer will not kick in. It throws an error message that says something like "unable to engage, move the steering wheel". After a few tries, it will usually kick in (we often have to drive S-curves or spin a donut before it will kick in though). Once it has engaged once, it works perfectly until the next time the tractor is turned off. It doesn't just do this when the tractor is "cold" - if we turn it off in the middle of the day and start it back up shortly after, we have to go through the same struggle to get it to kick in the first time.
Any ideas what would be causing this?
The other issue is that the auto-steer is not kicking out when the steering wheel is moved. When the tractor was new, the slightest turn on the wheel would kick out the autosteer - now, we have to turn the wheel fairly hard to steer the tractor far enough off line that it kicks out with a cross-track error (ie: the tractor is too far from the line to continue auto-steering). Which sensor is used to detect steering wheel movement? (where on the tractor is it located?)
They're both fairly minor issues (we're still able to use the auto-steer) - it would be nice to get them sorted out though. Thanks! | |
