I have a 1973 Chevy C-65 in need of a power steering gear and cylinder. Talked to Power Steering Specialists (www.pss1.com) out of Ohio, good smart people, but they want close to a grand for those two rebuilt parts. I don't put many miles on this truck and was wondering if there weren't salvage yards around that might have used parts.
I called a couple truck repair places, but neither has called me back after a couple days so I assume they couldn't find anything.

Lucken.....Went there once. Wasn't very impressed with what they called a very nice cab. I didn't think four different colors of paint, some bondo slapped on with a cement trowel, etc qualified as a very nice anything. They did have some decent looking salvage, unfortunately none of it was what we were looking for at the time. Should be a ton or two of that age Chevy gassers in salvage yards all over. Windy Hill by Spicer probably has some.

"They have alot of those gasser trucks that they're wrecking".......almost sounds like u have something against those old gas grain trucks haha I've been warned to steer clear of Loewen's in Manitoba. Lucken truck parts in Winger, MN has been preached to me many times.

We still have 2 Chevy gas grain trucks for seeding time and helping out the semis in harvest. Didn't mean to make it sound like I had anything against them. Spent many an hour hauling grain in a 1975 3 ton single axle grain truck. We thought we had arrived when we got a '83 Chev C70 tandem with a 366 gas engine in the early 90's. You don't get moving very fast with a 600 bu load of wheat with a 366 under the hood! But we hauled many, many bushels of grain with that truck.
What's the deal with Loewen's? I don't know them at all, just seen their ads in the paper.
