I believe the 2600 had a 6" x 8" frame tube,2700 had 8" x 8" frame tube, both adjusted cut by adding shims to where they bolted to the frame.2800 had 8" x 8" tube but width of cut was done on the go with a cylinder.8 x 8 tube allowed more trash clearance.HTH

2600 and 2800 first year of production 1978. 2600 in-furrow hitch only with mechanical wedge device for adjustable width of cut. 2800 in-furrow or on-land hitch with hydraulic on the go width of cut adjustment. 2700 plows came later in 1980. Was still a mechanical width change with higher clearence than the 2600. They were available in-furrow or on-land. All three could be had with spring reset or safety trip shanks. All three models used a hydraulic steering system for the tail wheel.

I have a 2800 variable width for many years. It will plow where other plows will plug in heavy trash conditions. My neighbor used it this fall to plow a couple old fields that had not been plowed for 25 years and was starting to grow up in trees. He tried it with his White 508 and tried a IH 710 and could not do it.When he brought my plow back he offered to buy it but I said no.With the hydraulic steering it gets around very tight if you do not have much room on headlands.I have had it for many years and have had good luck with it.
