Subject: John Deere 9330 VS 9360R

Southeastern IL
Has anyone ran both tractors? The 9330 @ 375hp and the 9360R @ 360hp. Can you tell a big difference from the 9360R to the 9330 in just the 15hp difference? I know the the 9330 has the 13.5L vs the 9360R 9.0L. Both have 480x46 triples and would be used for tillage. Not much more money to jump 3yrs to the R with 1300 less hrs if we wouldnt miss the 15hp.

Isn't the 9330 375 pto hp? And the 9360r 360 engine hp? Deere change the rating sometime in that time frame. So the 9330 would be around 40 to 50 hp more. Maybe someone can chime in I may be wrong.

I'm not sure but I don't think that's right. I think the 9xx0 series and 9R's are all rated in engine horsepower not PTO. I know our 9300 in 360 engine hp.

No John Deere 4wd have always been engine horsepower. I just trade to a 9410r from a 9330. I did not want to lose the 13.5. The guys that owned the 9410r I traded for had been running 9330s before the r's came out. They traded them for a 9360 and 9410 at the first if the yr. When they traded this yr they went back to 9410r. They didn't think the 9360 had the power their 9330s had.

Don't even try it...

the 9L to a 13.5L is like a knife in a gun fight.
I won't say "I told you so" but you're welcome to experience it first hand.

Good luck,
-Jack

9330 can be reprogrammed for more power in the future if needed whereas the 9.0 is getting close to the top of the hp rating for that engine family. Difference in emission systems could also factor in your decision.
