Mount Vernon, WA | Roo is correct. Turning up an 87 to make it an 88 would invite heating problems, along with drivetrain issues down the road as well. The 8830 has heavier final drives.
I do believe the 8830 has a larger fan and fan clutch, and also a heavier PTO clutch. The 88 has a full-flow engine oil cooler, the 87 does not. And, of course, the most obvious is the missing intercooler. This makes a huge difference all by itself. I would NOT do it. | |
