Subject: Clarke Mig Welder Parts

Alberta, Canada

I have this Clarke 100E welder I've had now since 1995.  I don't use it a whole lot but when I do its sure handy.  Problem is they seemed to be common in 1995 ... however now they're not and parts are difficult to track down.

Mine has the push on Shroud or nozzle part (see pics)  some of the larger models the shroud screws on.  Mine has  plastic fitting thing there (see pic) that screws on then the shroud pushes onto it.   Well mine is all worn out and half missing!!

Does anyone know of another brand that will fit?  I don't seem to have a problem finding new tips to fit.

In the UK these seem popular still but not over here. I did find some stuff listed on ebay but not exactly like my model.

Can't help you specifically, but it might be practical to replace the gun with something more popular.

Tweco mig guns are commonly used on various brands of welders and I suspect you could find one that would work on your welder. You may have to spring for a whole new cable/tube and gun, but the lining on your is probably shot anyway.

I was thinking of that too as an option as it would be nicer if it was longer! Not sure which way I'll go as its shame to scrap it as its works fine otherwise.

Do you have the original manual with it? Their is a phone number in there for parts. Call them and they will hook you up. I bought a 150EN Turbo Clarke years ago when I was starting high school, like you said, then they were all over. Went through a ton of consumables and the stuff it helped build with a Miller Thunderbolt was unreal. Used it so much, I toasted a board in it, they got me another at reduced cost. A few years and a ton of wire later, that one started to fry but I smelled it before it melted, soldiered on acouple jumper wires on the bad area and it was still going when I gave it away when I bought a new ESAB. Like I said, they have a number in the manual for parts and every time I called them, they took great care of me. For what they cost, they really held up IMO.

It is hard from the pic to determine what size/thread your conductor tube is, but that insulator looks a lot like the ones I use on my Tweeco 400.
Could you take your gun to a welding supply srore and see if insulators from another brand might work on yours? Surely the parts in your gun aren't unique to brand.
