Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums.
What adjustment do I make to help this door stay closed? It's a good door, operates nicely. But after you close it, a couple hours later it will open up just a little. It didn't used to do this. Here are some pics.

Could the heat of the day be causing a pressure increase in the system that is forcing it open?

Ontario's middle east
I would buy that. I have seen hi dump sweet corn carts lift up 2" from the sun shining on the hoses and cylinders.

Since hydraulic oil is a non compressible liquid and assuming that there is no air in the system the pressure in a trapped system will rise approximately 52 lbs per degree Fahrenheit. It sounds like a lot... and it is however it dose not equate out to much volume in fact in most cases you would find it difficult to even measure.

Mine does it in the summer and winter. Seems worse in the winter. Called Hydroswing and they said they would come down and change a "valve" in the valve body. Said it will get worse with time. Just change it out. They did not make it down to change it and now are broke! Ten year warrantee is no good. Have a buddy that Hydroswing changed the valve but have not checked to see if it helped. I wonder if I put a accumulator on the down pressure line if that would help.?? Like one off a combine header control.

Please let us know what they changed on your buddy's system. I'm betting most early models do it. Mine does as well. Only complaint on the door.

If you have a HydroSwing, Schweiss or Power Lift hydraulic door and the door creeps open over time the problem is most likely one of two things; The first is an internal bypass leak in the cylinder and the second is a faulty check valve in the pump system. The most effective way to determine the source of the problem is to isolate the two assemblys by installing a hydraulic ball valve in the close side hydraulic line, (the close side line is the lowest line on the cylinder in the closed position, if you makeup your valve assembly with a -6 female on one side and a -6 male fitting on the other it can easily be installed where the line connects to the pump) after installing the valve close the door completely and then close the valve. After the same amount of time has passed that would have resulted in a partly open door and if the door has not opened you have isolated the problem to the pump system. If the door still creeps open then the problem is most likely an internal bypass in the cylinder. If you discover that the problem is in the pump system it is most likely a PO Check valve or a coil valve, since each manufacture uses a slightly different configured system you would be best served in calling them, however if you have a HydroSwing system that will be impossible since they are no longer in business. I will try to help you if you can tell me what system was installed with your door; Hypower, Parker, MTI, Stone as these were the most common systems sold by that company. All parts are available and in the case of the cylinder internal leak I can help you find a Hydraulic shop that can test and repair your parts. www.icondoors.com

We had the same problem as your having and hydro swing never got around to fixing it. So we just put a lever shut off valve on the line going to the lift cylinders and shut the valve off and this solved the problem. Its a hassle to remember to open and close the valve but it works. We mounted the shut off valve right by the door switch so you can see it and remember to open it when you are opening the door.

I will have to try that with my door. We have the same problem.
