Want a decent size electric air compressor to use for transfering fuel and the ocasional flat tire. I know I've seen them mentioned here before, but can't find it in the search. What brand or size is worth the money?

The little "cigarette lighter" type 12V pumps are pretty limited, as I believe the lighter socket can only supply 15-20 amps. Only good to pump up a low car / pickup tire.
The "truck" type 12v compressors that clip right to the battery are supprisingly fast pumpers when filling tires. Still under $100.

We have 2 of the Puma 12V compressors. They're well-built & good. Not like the little cigarette lighter plug-in jobs. I think it draws something like 20A (or more?) at full load, so it has substantial wiring & needs good hookup. It has a regulator of it's own. Motor is BIG!

I use one like Ron's (Puma) except I have one with twin tanks. Not sure of amp draw either but I will pop a 50 amp fuse once in a great while on heavy use or maybe when I did not leave the service truck running to keep volts up. For limited use it's about the best I could find for the small amount of space I had available on this particular truck. If I really need do so something that's not just an emergency type deal the gas driven compressor gets loaded in the back.
You might change an implement tire with an impact but you will have to wait for it to pump up more than once due to the small storage capacity.
