Embarrass WI

If all you have around is BBI or Chandler, one of those would probably be your best bet.

Kuhn/Knight makes good equipment, but service and support is very important.

how are you going to control the rate on the Knight?

Good point agboy if you spread manure and can not control the rate of application I believe you really don't know what you have for fertilizer and then people just complain that the litter never worked and they won't try it again.

Say, would you be around the afternoon of Dec. 5?

I know it is Sunday, I will be traveling to Ames and could go your way if you are free.  See how you got along with your JCB, look at your roll out buckets and did you get your Tebbe trailer in yet??

Email me if we can stop by and chat a bit.  maybe your stuff is out in the field yet.

i use a knight/kuhn for spreading some fertilizers. you have a pretty good idea what a bucket of product wieghs, and a good idea of your fields, on one product if i want 3 tons per acre, i count buckets going in and area covered. with a little practice a guy can get pretty close.

I have a 2044 Kuhn VB. Love the hydra push and the vertical beaters. Spreads great, I make a pass every 30' to get good coverage. 40' seems a little wide and it gets light between the passes. Capacity isn't as much as some other brands. I use the flow control on our tractor and my ground speed to adjust my rate. I think it spreads well enough for a light rate product like litter. I've wondered about putting weigh bars on the axle and tongue with a monitor in the cab to truly dial in the rate. Drive 5-6 mph and slow your hyd. flow down to spread lightly. I always wanted to talk to someone using the VB for litter to get their opinion. How many tons/acre are you shooting for?

Talk away.

I would not use a hyd push for litter.

We used the end gate at about 30 inches to regulate the litter into the beaters and used Ag Leader InSight with GPS to control the rate.  Always keep litter in the back end to keep it charged up so you don't have to wait on the ends until litter starts to hit the fans.  Ran 30 foot swath with light bars.

Also have scale on it to match up with InSight for rate.

It works pretty good.  It is for sale, want it?
