agree , there have been several threads on dump pits. I'll try to post some pics of the one we put in this year when I get a chance.

Here is what we did, our goal was to eliminate a jump auger.

Thought I had a couple more pictures than just one...but here's what we did this fall, though nowhere near as fancy as others on here. Just dug about 2' down, dropped concrete blocks in around the swing away auger and layed some iron over top to drive over. We did this because we got a hopper for this year, instead of a couple dump trailers.

1000 moline, Thanks

I call it the poor mans grain leg. After viewing different dump pits on this site last winter, this is what I came up with. I liked Smoothlanders idea but I needed to pivot the auger to my other bins. There are other brands that can be buried. With those I was concerned about corrosion and maintenance. With this one I can just pick it out, clean it up and put it away. With it removed it also gives me all the room I need to load out.

Varment

My backhoe is a 1973 Bucyrus Erie. It was a very heavy and powerful hoe in it's day. Not so much in today's standards.

Thanks; Jon
