Dad didn't get that 7710 that I asked about last week. Went for $16.000, he thought that was enough. Now he's looking at a 1999 TS 110. Just curious what anybody thought about them. Thanks for the help.

Don't own one but have operated the neighbors quite a bit.

Pretty nice tractor overall but there are a few things that are annoying. The beeper that goes off anytime you get out of the seat to remind you to set the parking brake is one and the electrically engaged clutch is another. It is also (for a tractor that new) a little disappointing in the hyd department.

This tractor has 2 gear shift levers on the floor between your legs, is this common on this new of a tractor?

Not real sure but I think that would be the lower end model. We have a 7710 mfwd and it is noiser than our tw20 hydl mostly. I set in a ts 100 then the 6 cyl model can't remember the number but it was a bunch quieter. ben

The neighbors is a cabbed tractor with the gear shift levers on the right side. I believe it has a 2 speed range, two speed syncro and 4 spd powershift with a left hand reverser.

Nice tractor just a few minor things I don't care for.

You're describing an early TB not a TS. TS came from Basildon, TB from Mexico.

We've got 2 0f them. They have Iveco engine's and basically a Fiat tractor with blue sheet metal. Would I buy another, Nope. I've never sat in the seat of either of them but the operator don't like them as good as the 6410 JD or MX100c. They say the steering wheel is uncomfortable.

Pasco WA.
I bought a used late model TS 100 last summer to use as a rake tractor. What a disapointment. Barely enough hydraulics to run a NH 216 rake. Rough riding, noisy, akward controlls. 3 gearshift levers. I fixed one major oil leak last fall and it just sprouted another one. Not too impressed for a tractor with only 1800 hours on it. All in all I would prefer to drive my 35 year old JD 4230. It's just a quiet, rides better and is more operator friendly. Would I buy another one? Not if I had to drive it myself.

FWIW, here is the Nebraska/OECD test of the NH TS 100 tractor. I see it was make in the old Ford factory in England. http://tractortestlab.unl.edu/NewH/NH_TS100.pdf

I drove one for a season on a potato harvester , Not the nicest cab but lots of grip and power made MX100 look terrible for performance .
I'd take the 7710 myself.

I've actually got a TS90, and a 7710. The TS, for whatever reason rides a lot smoother than the 10. Might be the radial rubber up front. Dunno yet.... Don't have a cab on my TS, but the one's I've been in haven't seemed poor to me.

Other than that, I've found it to be a good solid tractor. The only real difference between the 90 and 110 is the wheels and the engine internals and fueling to make 20 more HP. Otherwise, the same tractor. I've had a few minor problems that were taken care of under warranty, and a few other annoyances. It took some getting used to coming from a 10 series, but they grow on you.
The gear levers between your legs mean 1 thing. It's a base model with the 8x2 or 16x4 crashbox. It's great for going forward, and hard to kill, but you'll likely miss not having more reverse gears. I've got the 12x12 which is OK. 24x24 would be better because you'd get the half gear from the dual power. I'm not too struck on the 16x16 powershift, but I know some guys that love them....
Generally, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a TS. They're good solid reliable tractors. Just keep in mind that the rear engine seal will always leak, the same as any other Ford engine from 1965 onwards. I've yet to see one that was worked that didn't weep.

Also, the only Fiat parts on those tractors are the FWD axles. The rest of it is pure Ford, straight from Basildon. The TL series was the fiat based tractor.... and the new TS-A is mostly fiat, but with the new Cummins ISB.....
