Just bought a very nice mid 90's 26 ft Kent field cultivator. What are some weak points of this machine? Also what do you guys like about them? Ours has the 5 bar harrow. Is Kent still a company or did they get bought out? Couldn't find a website of any sort. Thanks.

NEKS
Kents are good quality cultivators. They were built at Tipton Ks and bought out by Great Plains equipment company. I am sure that Great Plains has parts and equipment for the older equipment.

Brazilton KS

There are lots of durability and quality control problems with that age of them, however I think you are probably pretty safe since you do not have the discovator parts on the front and you are dealing with a relatively narrow machine.  The heavier they get the more they break...I speak from experience owning a '92 42' discovator.

Still built in Tipton by basically the same people, but owned by Great Plains now.  Hopefully Great Plains attention to strength is rubbing off on them.

I'm chuckling.
wanna compare weld spots on the disk o vator?
We have the proto type and still going strong. 5 section unit.
The best thing they did was put a second hyd cylinder on each side for the wings. One of these days I swear that unit will just go pop and crash to the ground.

Nc Ks.
Mid 90's. Can't remember, is that the yellow painted 3 rank model or the newer red painted 5 rank model? My uncle has the 26ft. red model. It has the one piece shank. Been trouble free requiring no welds. Better than the older yellow ones like I had. More trash clearace plus no springs to break or bushings to wear out on shank assemblies.
