Very good and dependable dryer.  $13,000 is a fair price if there isn't a million hours on it.  50,000 bu. is nothing for a 270, if you dump hot and cool in the bin it will do about 700 bu/hour.  Up until last year I ran 200,000 bu a year through it, then decided it was maxed and went to a 510.

Mine was a 1998 I purchased new, and I don't remember the hours.  I think they had mine sold when I traded it for around $20,000, never went to the shop I think they pulled it directly to the farmers yard and checked it over once they got it set.  For that price it would be a investment for the future, in my opionion.  Gotta go, it is my shift in the tillage tractor.

WOW, That would be almost new. My Farm Fans dryer has 19,000 hours but it's an 1981 model year. Dried 90,000 bu corn so far this year 10,000 to go yet. Good dryers too.

We have a CF/AB 270 as well. Its been a pretty reliable dryer for us. If memory serves its got a little over 3000 hours on it. The guy we bought it from would put a lot more corn through it than you every year. We put about 35k a year through ours. If its wet it can be kinda slow but it you get into the lower 20's and steep in the bin it will dry some serious corn in a day. Ours has the moisture hold on it. That it a great feature. If your running 20% corn and get a batch of 25% corn it will hold it automatically so you don't have to mess with the timers. We are drying 30% corn with ours this year and have the dry timer set on 20 min and use the moisture hold to dump at 18% then steep in the bin.

good dryer, fairly simple to work with and trouble shoot if you do ever have trouble.. 50,000 would be a cake walk for it.. IIRC one sold here this summer for approx 23K was fair shape around 1500 hrs and was a 1996? After this year here, that baby would be sold over night at that price... doesnt take many bushels to make it pay...

Good dryer, and a steal at that price if it's in any kind of shape at all. If it's been outside all the time and not cleaned up well, sometimes the lower corners of the screens can rust through on the side panels just above the end cross members at the unload auger, but sounds like yours probably doesn't have that issue if it's been inside.

We have a new CF2125, it replaced an old used AB250A. Both good dryers. We replaced the old mechanical timers in the 250 with new electronic ones...big improvement. The 270 should already have the good timers in it. Had to replace a couple computer boards in the 2125 this year, and a couple loose wires on the #1 fan starter gave us fits for a while, but after that never missed a beat all fall.

Tim at the factory provides great support.

We also have a 270 that was new in 02. It has a little over 4000 hours on it with very little trouble. We pushed well over 200k bushel through it the past 2 years and it worked well. Now this year in wet corn it did slow us down a bunch but it happens. We just traded our 270 for a GSI dryer for next year but i wouldnt hesitate to own another 270.

That sounds exactly like our setup, a 27 foot wet bin and a 270. We probably put 90000 through it in a year, and no problems yet. Ours is on it's second season, and no real problems yet, still learning how to use it really since we had an ez dry before (which is now our wet bin). If you run continuous flow, find a 6 inch auger or air setup to take it away. we have an 8 inch right now, and it likes to grind up the corn.
