He's not paid to work on things that are perfectly running.

Yea they aren't easy fixes sometimes like old iron. The fan/water pump configuration on some R series Deere look like a nightmare. I saw one video where the mechanic used the service truck crane to work on one. Crazy! Glad I can't afford that stuff.

With the size of that huge dealership, we're seeing a fraction of the machine population that need some work versus those that run every day for years without issue.

Have one service tech breakdown call in the past seven years on my modern Deeres and that was for something that could have been fixed myself but timeliness was more important so it was worth the one hour of labor charge.

I like watching his channel. Better than Canadian garbage news, that is for sure. Wonder why his dealer allows it. Talking and working isnt anything new but it does take quite a bit of messing around by yourself to set cameras up in proper positions.

I wonder about that too. Never the less, I’m glad they let him do it, he’s very good at what he does and at making videos (some aren’t so good at the latter). I will likely never tackle some of the repairs he’s done, but I still enjoy watching him. I have bought a few handy tools he has mentioned in his videos. I recently bought a set of the extended reach nut holders. I’ve already used one, they are handy. I think he did two videos on the combine that had (I think) a cultivator shank go through it, what a job that was! That was an interesting watch

I heard him on a podcast (Certified Wrench Episode 6, note that I am not endorsing this podcast) once and he said he mentioned it to one of the actual owners of the dealership(s) when they came around. I believe he picked out a younger owner of the group and the owner fully supported the endeavour.

He has saved me a bunch of money since I bought my 9770 3 yrs ago. I’m much more likely to tackle a repair when I can watch someone else do it first. I especially like that he does not skip steps and explains the whys and hows of the repair.

IF every mechanic at the Dealership (any color) was as skilled as he is, farmers would hire more out.
