ECWI
Late 70s and my dad was expanding from 50 to 125 cows. Needed a lot of bigger equipment. I got to skip school one day when salesman brought out a brand new White 4-150 tractor and plow to demo. I was in heaven with dad plowing in first cab tractor ever on farm.
Dad farmed with Oliver and Case and had a good dealer for each close by.
Soon after the White demo he bought this 2470 slightly used instead from Case dealer. Still use occasionally but not many hours the last 15 years since 9350 became the big horse. 2470 has 7000 hours and it’s hands full pulling 5 shank ripper through clay.
Asked dad once why he went with Case over White. Said the Case salesman was also the dealership owner. White salesman was a salesman. Unfortunately we lost that dealer in the CaseIH merger.
The 2470 has served us well.

Cool pictures and thanks for sharing your story
Years ago, we look pretty hard at a 4690 before deciding on a Steiger

Neat story, one of my favorite childhood farm memories also involved a White tractor. In the fall of 1985 I was in the 5th grade. One day my dad picks me up during the morning at school and tells me the owner of our White dealer in Lisbon, ND was going to fly us in his personal small plane to test drive a new 4-270 out in central ND at Tappen! I was so excited, since I loved planes and new 4wd tractors! Dad ended up buying a brand new 4-270 later that fall, he still has it today.

My neighbor has a 4-270. Always thought they were one of the coolest 4wd’s.

Great story. It’s awesome still seeing the old school stuff getting it done. We had Case & Oliver also growing up. Still use 2 Oliver’s in the hay field. Bought the 2470 new in 1974. It’s still going.

Great story, nice tractors, both the 2470’s pictured. I only knew of one in our neighborhood, and it would not have had near as nice of a home. But it ran on that farm for at least 30 years.

Brother bought low houred 2670 in 1983, used it on our farm till 1993 when we needed more hp, sold it to good farmer. We’re mostly John Deere now, in 2019 bought another 2670 with dozer blade to level ditch banks that we make cleaning ditches that we clean with our excavator. Have old 1200 Case with dozer blade that’s getting very tiered, that we’ve had sense 1980.

Nice pics we had a 2670 and after dropping a valve for the third time or head gasket failure for the 2nd time in 10 years we sent it down the road for a snow plow truck/sander one of the happiest days of my life!!

That same type of stuff happened to my neighbors 2670 several times. He ended up parking it and getting a Steiger ST 250. I think Case took that 504 a little too far in the 2670. He had a 2470 before and it was fine.

Dad went the 4-150 route coming from a 1486 International (Disappointment) . It was the first tractor dad let me disc on my own with. Unfortunately either the second or third year he owned it at the beginning of spring it dropped a gear in the tranny and shelled out a crapload of gears, etc. Dad traded at that point I believe for a 3788 International dueled all the way around. The 1486, 4-150, and 3788 each had a "cool factor" but each were duds in in real world application.

This reminded me of a white 1470 that someone local to me got last year. Story was it was ordered and someone wanted it to push dirt if it would work. The dealer set it up with a factory case dirt blade and demoed it. Customer didn't like it and the dealer never sold the tractor. It only has 50 original hours and looks like new yet.

They never made a white 1470. Maybe a 2470?
