Subject: gas cyl for toolbox

I am trying to find the gas cyl for a RKi toolbox. The brand and part # is suspa c16-04379. On the suspa website, this part is back ordered and cost $110. Two of these will equal what I paid for the toolbox. Can't find any specs or availability for this. It is 12" extended and 9" compressed. The sticker with box model # is gone. It is 30" wide so it has a heavy lid. Anyone have ideas on how to find this part at a reasonable cost?

Thanks for that info. I called and they crossed the # and had what I needed for less than $30.

Good info. Thanks for the site. It’s amazing how many things use these cylinders and when they go bad no one seems to be able to do anything with them. I’ve got a Harbor Freight tool cart that was given to me. Both cylinders on the top lid were bad. Finally found some at a local Bumper to Bumper parts house that “work” but they are way too strong for it. Took 2 trips to town to get them because the first ones they gave me had the wrong socket size.

I do know you don’t want to buy them at a dealership. They are made of gold there.
