Subject: JD 2955 hyd filter location


I’ve got a 2955 and I know where the transmission filter is located at the bottom of the rear end in the threaded spring loaded canister, but does anyone know if there is also a hydraulic filter anywhere on the tractor?

SW OH		Hydraulic and transmission oil are the same and that's the only filter it has. There is a suction screen in the bottom of the case like all other older Deeres.

There is a suction screen for the transmission pump behind a round plug right there at the filter cup location. Transmission pump flow is then through the filter to the transmission control functions (Hi-Lo and PTO) , then to the front high pressure  pump. No other replaceable filters. Normal service or problems?

McMinnville Tn.		I don't know about the 55 series but on my 2950 there is a small inline filter on it. It's on the left side underneath the battery box.

west central Iowa		Our 2955 with cab, has a screw on filter under front right corner of cab also. To the rear of the battery box. # AL56469

I looked on mine and cannot find anything anywhere that resembles an oil filter. I’m thinking mine just doesn’t have one. Maybe it was an option?

Midwest		Suggest looking at an online parts catalog or pics of that model for sale that might show it.
