New castle PA
Is there any advantage of using this product over the conventional salts in generic glyphosate? Thanks.

Its just a 4.5 lb AE product thats a K salt... Might be some differences in price per lb AE. Roundup Powermax 3 is still the cheapest per lb of all gly still.

Saw a price of $14.50 for Agsaver 53.8% 5.4# product. Is PM3 still a better value?

Ag saver would be 5 cents cheaper per acre before the Bayer rebates.

agsaver 5.4 is absolute garbage, imo. you will need quite a bit more to work like a powermax or honcho, imo

The formations are a bit confusing to determine equivalents. What price PM3 = Agsaver at 14.50? What about rate per acre?

theoretically the agsaver is a 5.4 and the honkey or pm3 is a 6. but the ag saver is a piss poor 5.4. when I got a tote of it a couple years ago, it seemed I need 5-6 more oz than any other 5.4 I had gotten.

imo you need 32 of ag saver vs 22 of honcho or pm3.

AgSaver worked well for us last year, but this year PM3 is definitely a better buy

I had ag saver 5.4 that we tested few years ago and some of the totes were only 40% active. Haven't used it since.

Agsaver doesn't have surfactant in it, probably why it doesn't work the best. We use Wynca Sunosphosate 5.4 and have had excellent results. Made in the USA and fully loaded. One of the "good" generics.

When it’s hot hot K salt is the king.

If you look at acid equivalents. The real indicator of glyphosate strengths.

Standard 41% 3.0 acid
Agsaver 5.4 4.0 acid
Honcho K6. 4.5 acid
Powermax 3. 4.8 acid.

So if the agsaver is $14.50
4# needs to be $10.88
K6 $16.31
Powermax 17.40

That’s not counting the surfactants in powermax. That’s probably a .15 an acre value or so. Some of the 41% products have some good surfactants in them also.

I sell a bunch of the 5.4 junk because that’s what people want after they see it cheap elsewhere. But it’s really a scam from the online guys hoping people won’t do the math.

If I was running a quart of PM3, I’d be running 48 of 4# stuff or 38 or so 5.4.

Going after something like nutsedge or tx panicum or a morning glory. Light duty, 22pm, 24k6, 26 5.4, 32 4#

I had a large customer running 18 of glystar k6 on voulenteer wheat and wild oats this fall. He had a couple 1000 acres he said it didn’t work on. I went and looked and it was a half donkey kill. We finally figured out he had run out of K6 and his guys grabbed a couple 5.4 totes to finish and didn’t adjust the rate because guy he bought it from said it was just as good as K6 but cheaper. About a $10,000 mistake to save $1 an acre.

It's just mostly that's the rate they have always used.

I usually use Durango at 1-gal-5 acres or Makaze at 1-gal-4.5 acres or PM-3 at 1-gal-5.5 acres. On tougher to kill stuff will decrease by half an acre or plan on two shots about 12 days apart.

I have a little more mixing issue with PM-3 with Diuron than the other two.
