SC Kansas
I’m wanting to Do any preventative maintenance here before school starts on our strip till rig. What needs done? It seemed to be working OK last spring when I put it away except for the rate bouncing a little but that seemed to straighten out as I went. Anything with the cooler? Flow meter? Valves? Or don’t mess with it until something stops working? Edit for pic

At the very minimum, bleed it out and make sure the screen on the supply hose is clean.

Check the dates on your hoses and make sure they are not aged out.

I like to:
Hook up your controls and without product, make sure the main valve opens and closes. Use the manual rate change and make sure the throttling valve moves open and closed.

Open the breakaway coupler and lube it so it works if needed.

Final step is to put all together, apply shop air and check for leaks.

I assume “grease everything” is kind of a given.

Put together an air hose and regulator, holding air pressure around 60# and making sure nh3 free and start running air through and checking flows and for leaks and cycling valves. Also looks like your corroded gauge and off color hoses need replacing.

We try an run Diesel fuel thru ours. Just gravity flow fuel into supply line.
Usually have hose way up high and stick nozzel in it.
Kind of a pain but think it helps rust and corrosion. ????
What say you all??

I echo the screen cleaning advice. If there are magnets inside screen area, you want to clean those. They can become caked with rust that, once acculmulated, will plug your flow. Just storing your rig inside a shed is a good pm move. Hoses deteriorate rapidly when they encounter the elements.

Drill a small 1/8" hole in the bottom of the Raven plastic housings to let any water out that finds its way inside. Otherwise the plastic "cup" will fill with water and ruin the electric motor and all the circuitry within. BTDT
