Does anyone irrigate pastures or fields with pipe like this?  How does it stay together?Joints of 8

Buhl, Id.
Just shove them into the bell end just pass the gasket. Stake them down when there is no water in them. The wind has been known to move them around.

30 or 36" ridged row crops, yes

never close all the gates with the well on. there is never any pressure in the pipe.

If you need more there are piles of that around here. Although most need new gates and probably getting brittle. Been sitting for 25+ years!

Yep. Just the weight of the pipe and the friction of the bell and spigot joint kept things together. Always drove a t-post at the end cap and 2 posts at a tee or elbow.

You can clamp them together with clamps if you have lots of pressure, but usually we just let friction and its own weight keep them together, drive a t post on the end and it wont go anywhere
