Purchased a new to me planter. 2008 JD 1760. Came from a white. I need to add some sort a row cleaner. Looking for ideas.

Needs. Rock issues and moving towards more no-till/ min-till. Move trash and rocks away from the units. No-till soybeans into corn stacks and no-till corn into alfalfa/CRP/hay.

I'll probably add PP or ag leader tech back onto this planter but gotta start somewhere.

If the plan is to add PP tech in the future, PP has a new frame mounted row cleaner called the "Reveal"

I don't know of any row cleaners that integrate with Ag Leader, but any air adjust models such as yetter or dawn seem to be a good upgrade.

I've run two Deere planters over the years both equipped with Martin cleaners and have been satisfied.

Have the exact same planter and run martin rigid row cleaners and for the most part are satisfied. Once in a while the row will get plugged up with a crossways corn stalk, but usually if you keep driving it'll clean itself out in a short distance without trenching too bad.

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Great nephew purchased some air adjust cleaners for our 24 row 1770NT. It has manual adjust Yetters on it now. I don't know what his plan is for the Yetters we will be taking off.

As much as you are notilling, buy good adjustable (up and down) row cleaners. It's the most important thing on a notill planter.

Frame mounted would be ideal, but expensive.

You would think. Price Reveal and Martin 1360 with the Smart Clean brackets and cylinder (same as Cleansweep) and treader wheels and there isn't near the difference that there should be. Last I looked was something like $100-150/row was the difference in the 2. That extra 150 gets you a frame mounted cleaner with airbags instead of a cylinder. I'd imagine the airbags with outlast the cylinders by double on average. There are other options out there for both styles, but those are 2 popular examples.

I installed used Dawn GFX row cleaners in 2022 that I found thanks to the AgTalk classifieds and absolutely love them. After one year of running frame mounted row cleaners, I have absolutely zero desire to have a row cleaner mounted on the row unit.
