I’ve read the good about them. I’m looking for the bad. I’m also wondering how reliable the drop box is and if parts are available for them. I’m also wanting to know if the cab parts like hvac parts are hard to get. Thanks for any info

We’ve ran one for years, very good machine and parts are available for most any of the machine. Call Big Teactor parts about them to get all the nitty gritty questions answered.

5 and half years ago I was in the market for a nicer articulated tractor. Went to Randall Bros. and drove a bunch of tractors the Agco star was my least favorite by far. That says a lot considering I bleed orange.

Isn't it a Massey by heritage?

Massey->McConnell->AgcoStar?

Sold probably 40-50 of them, have never touched a dropbox.

Parts have been hit or miss from AGCO, but there's not much you absolutely have to go to AGCO for. Cab parts are non existent, but I haven't needed much either. A/C parts shouldn't be any major problem to keep going.

The bad, put it in gear, and let it pull. Not much creature comforts, but don't ride bad.
The good, put it in gear, and let it pull! Not much to go wrong, component built, big HP, simple, reliable tractors.

C Mayer. I don’t need much for creature comforts. But my question is how would it compare to my versy 946. Is the cab nicer

Be heavier than your 946 and pull more. Think cab would be on a par. They have Raba diffs...same as CaseiH 4wds of the same era.

Bigger cab, probably same level of comfort with more room for stuff. Maybe a little quieter, but probably splitting hairs.

Both are pretty spartan, so not sure what you mean by nicer cab. A/C is good in both, AGCO Star sits taller, I'd say has more glass and maybe a little better visibility, but it's still a big long hood.
