Subject: Which John Deere skid steer? Compact track loader

Central Missouri
I am trying to decide which John Deere compact track loader to buy. The 325g, 331g, or 333g. Will be used for farm use. Moving seed and chemical shuttles, repairing terraces, picking up and digging rocks, etc. Would like input on what others have purchased and there experience! Any thoughts would help. I like the 325g because it doesn’t use def but not sure it’s big enough. Thanks for any input!

Went from a Gehl 7810 to a 333G. There is a night and day difference in the productivity between the two. The CTL tiptoes through soft ground and digs like a beast. 2 years on the Deere and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I have been told there isn’t much difference between the productivity of 331G and the 333G.

I’m in love with my 333G. Mostly minor piddly crap is all I’ve had so far with it. I can carry 2 pro boxes at once if I want to, not a problem. If you can swing it you won’t regret it. Backup camera is so nice for stacking things in a tight shed. Light work you’ll get 2 tanks of fuel out of a tank of DEF (2-gallons which is annoying because it won’t hold a jug) but hard work you can almost empty both tanks at the same time. If you’re shopping used find one without high-flow. Not really a requirement on a farm, especially considering they have 25gal standard flow. Standard flow loses value like a rock used, but standard flow means it hasn’t run most of the attachments that west then out. (Mulcher, planer, hammer, etc.)

We bought a used 333g, and this things a beast! There’s an awesome YouTube channel showing what to do for maintenance on these.

I have ordered some of the forestry guards to protect the couplings.

They are heavy, 12000+ lbs, so on the hunt for a bigger trailer to move it around.

I can move a full shuttle of round up with an s650 bobcat with no extra weight it's about max of what it'll do. That's the same size as a 325g but on tires so one on tracks should handle that a little better if that helps.

I’ve had a 331G since Jan 2017. Hand full of PIP’s is all that been done to it. 650+ hrs. It’s stout. Fuel and DEF use mentioned above sounds like mine.

Don’t know anyone that bought a skidsteer and complained it was too big. That being said I purchased a 331g a year ago and was the first skid steer I’ve had on the farm. Simply love it. 333s are more common to find than 331s however they are same weight and physical size. 333s just have a few more ponies ( hp). I will say I’ve never encountered anything yet that I felt underpowered. Seldom if ever havei ran at full throttle. They are a beast and have incredible amount of lift capacity. My suggestion would be to look for either of the 331 or 333 whichever I could get the Best Buy on. Don’t think you’ll notice much difference. Good luck !

We have a ct322 and just got a 333g for the lift height to load lime. I would have gotten a 325 if not for that use. It's a big machine and def sucks.
