Considering a JD ATU 300 anyone have a good or bad experience with one? Have a friend with a 200 that says he gets along good. Anybody have a clue about price or availability?

They are good. I priced one in April and it was available for $1,800.

Almost as good as integrated! I use with an SF3000 on RTK and a 2600 display.
Used to plant corn this year and the rows were straighter than they ever were with a Pro 700 with RTK. It will take a few tries to get the settings just right with an articulated tractor, but it is very doable.
I move it betweena planter tractor, forage harvester and a combine in a year, and it works great with them all.

$2000 will cover it, and others have said they are available.

Have an atu 200 In a 9570 combine, have a atu 300 in a 7430 premium. The atu 300 is miles better then the 200. Finds Line quicker, less steering wiggle, quieter and has a self calibration that seems to really improve performance.

I have a 200 that I’d sell. They are good, not as accurate as integrated. My topcon steering wheel with a wheel angle sensor is literally as good as integrated. The WAS takes it to the next level of accuracy imo.

had 200's and thought they were great. traded for 300's and they are like others said almost as good as integrated. a BIG plus is there are no wheel angle sensors or hydraulic valves to go bad as well as the wiring that goes with those parts. after using both, with the descent price of the 300 I wouldn't buy a used 200.

I heard from the dealer that the 300 was built for open tractors less cab & the 300's can be left out in the weather but a 100 or 200 not able to be on an cabless tractor.

Planted with john deere 8320 with atu 300, starfire 3000 on sf1. Like others have said took some messing with settings to get it dialed in. Hard to tell difference between our integrated 8330 or the 8320 both work good. The only bad thing about the atu 300 is it is heavy on the steering colum and can be in the way of your knees. Just takes some getting used to. Over all I am happy with our choice think it cost around 1200 bucks little over 3 years ago.
