Anyone got any info on the differences between a 2018 or a 2020 Gleaner S97? Not sure what changes there were.

Major changes, nothing really. Biggest difference I can think of off my head is a 2wd machine has heavier spindles and the same wheels as a RWA halfway through 2019, and a bigger hydraulic pump and power steering orbital to help them steer easier sitting still.

As far as processor, some minor changes, nothing drastic that makes a 2020 that much better in the field than a 2018. Any S9 is a nice improvement in threshing quality and capacity over an S8, but from 2016 to now we haven't made a giant change, just some smaller ones. I'll try to find all the releases and post them for everyone.
Chris

EDIT. Found 2020-2022, still looking for the older years

Been good. Lost my password and just never got around to taking the 5 minutes to log back on. Not cruising the classifieds has saved me a few bucks though!

Thanks for asking!

Probably $100,000? They will all be good. Our biggest challenge has been the shifting of the transmission and we're on our third one so far on one S98 and we'll see how the update works this year. Another new S98 we will be coming to our farm this summer.

The grain leak on our S97 was mainly in canola. It was poor manufacturing on the grain return housing. There were seams that were not tight when welded together and canola would leak out on the rotor drive belt.

Well, as much as it pains me to say this, nothing I have heard of other than the serial number and maybe a sticker. The last couple years we've been told to keep getting production numbers up so they could justify the money spend to make some real changes, and well, new combine sales haven't been stellar until last November/December. So, I know they are working on some things, but nothing was ready for the 100th, and with the production schedules everyone is seeing now, I'd had to introduce major changes anyway as much as they've had to increase production to attempt to keep up with demand. That's never a good time to learn to bolt new parts on machines.

I am confident that Gleaner is far from finished, and even if the FENDT Ideal gains market share, the two combines can compliment each other very nicely. The Gleaner is still tops in the market for simplicity, reliability, and grain quality from what I've seen, and is no slouch at all when it comes to performance!
