What are the good and bad of this Case line of loaders? Thinking most of a 60 XT model. Electrical gremlins, ease of serviceability, reliability, cold weather starting and any other issues that people have encountered would be of interest. Thanks in advance

Pretty much bulletproof. Wheel bearings every once in a while but I had 40xt with 11k hours and a 75 with 5k and had an 85 with almost 8k hours . No trouble with any of them. Traded the 85 for a 445 series one and so far it’s going good also.

I think these are a pretty reliable machine.  I had to replace one wheel motor that had a seal start leaking.  Hydraulic oil could leak into the drive chain compartment and overfilled it.  I have replaced one or two drive chains.  I like the XT models for maintenance accessibility.  I can tilt the cab ahead and get to about anything with ease.

I have a 60XT, bought it (2007/08) with 300 some hours on the clock and now has about 2300 hrs. I don't put a lot of hrs per year on it, but it has never refused to do what I ask of it. Only thing I wish it had was an enclosed cab when using the snowblower.
Would I buy another one if I needed one ? Yes.

Have a 70 and a 90.  Of the things you mentioned, the only one they are possibly a little weak on is the cold starting.   They're fine unaided down to about 20F.  Colder than that is no problem at all if you can plug them in, but probably won't be much fun if it's sitting in a field a mile from electricity.

60XT isn't quite big enough for large round bales, herbicide shuttles, seed pallets etc.  but if you're just wanting to do 1845C-sized work with a machine that's a little newer and more refined than an 1845C, you'll be pleased.

Great loaders, but most didn't have 2 speed. If you find a nice one, just buy it. Way more reliable than newer skid loaders

I had a 90XT for a number of years, trouble free, hand controls so no friggin computer crap to give troubles plus the 90xt has the bucket cylinders on top of the booms rather than out front so much less apt to damage them if you run into something. I'd like to have one with a cab with heat & air though.

The xt series are good machines, if you can't find one in the hour range you a looking for, the 400 series is basically the same machine just with an Iveco motor instead of the Cummins. I've got a Case 450 (like a 90xt) that has been pretty trouble free. Had an 1845c before it that was good as well, moved up to the 450 because I wanted something with two speed and a little bigger.
