KY

Anyone ever seen anything like this setup?  I think it's a pretty neat deal, don't know how deep or wide the plow is good for on that machine.

There is a lot of posts over on ytmag and some of the Oliver Facebook pages on this. Interesting set up I think it was for phone cables?

Bingo. I used to drive by the equipment lot for a local Durham, NC, contractor whose primary focus was plowing cable for telephone and cable companies. They had a fleet of these machines. Gone now.

X2. They had loader on front to hold a spool of cable.

I have seen rigs like that or sometimes with a crawler tractor that were used to install underground phone lines. I think some of those "plows" are set up to vibrate as it is pulled through the ground which makes it pull easier and leave little soil disturbance.

Friend of mine ran one at the phone company in the early 80's. He said there's had a high speed road gear. Coworker nearly bit the dust when a tire let loose the highway.

Had the chance to pick up one of these about 15 years ago for $3500 but was told we didn’t need it because it didn’t have a pto or 3 point and would be useless on the farm.

It was a 115 Mighty Tow with no attachments. I don’t remember much about it but I sure wanted to bring it home. Later on I ended up with a 1900 A and a 1900 C. The A was a Riceland model which was basically anwheatland with rice tires on the rear and single ribs up front.
