What's the best ramps to load a four wheeler or small side by side on a pick up? Thanks!

I just have some cheap curved ones from rural king and i would not ride anything up them. I push them on. Too risky trusting 10lbs of aluminum to hold up so much wieght. Especially with a high sitting truck. I say just buy the heaviest ones you can find maybe go steel for strength

I bought mine at my local JD dealer years ago. They are aluminum and curved. The cross bars are not just laid on top and welded these have small aluminum square tubing welded between the side pieces. I wouldn't hesitate to load a atv or utv with them. I'm not sure if JD still has them or not but at the time they did have a JD tag and part number.

I bought the cheapest ones on Cabela's I could find. They're too short, but they work fine, fold up to fit under the 4 wheeler and were cheap. That's what I was after.

Be darn careful. I bought the trifold set from tractor supply a couple of years ago, the third time I loaded with them two of the bars snapped at the weld. I welded them back, and next load the tabs that sit on the trailer or tailgate bent themselves straight, a little more and they would have folded up and fell. I took the pins out of the hinges, threw two in the scrap and tossed the other on my tender truck as a ladder... 2nd or 3rd time I used it one of the rungs snapped off one side.. 'bout broke my foot. I wouldn't trust that ramp to load a tricycle.

Agree with others. Aluminum ramps seem to have to much of a tendency to break. Anyone around here who has had aluminum ramps either broke them or bent them. They got tired and went to steel, more heavy and expensive, but much safer if built correctly. Also have to remember when buying, you can't just buy ramps according to machine weight if they are close to total capacity, but operators weight on that as well (unless you have a way of getting something on without anyone driving it). I found mostly heavier set guys had trouble most often. Steel ramps aren't very hard to build either.

Have a look at rev-arc Ramps. We use them in our consulting business loading and unloading 5-10 times a day. They are the best we have found, light enough to be easily handled, I can fold and throw them in and out of the truck with one hand fairly easily. However they are still built strong, we have had a few crack that we have welded up but ours are used a lot.

Bought these in 10' long over a decade ago and no complaints loading a MudPro 700.

Not gonna pick on the other advice and issues here but I've been doing this for 25 years and using aluminum ramps for the past decade at least. I use the lightest ramps I can get as I'm swinging them on and off the truck hourly many days. As in anything they will fatigue over time. You can see them doing this and at that point just get new ones. They won't have a catastrophic failure if you are within the weight limits. I also put a bolt in the top of the ramp edge and an aluminium angle on my tailgate with a hole for the bolt to set in so the ramps don't "skate away".

Figure out your weight to drive the ATV on - between me and ATV it's about 850 lbs, straight aluminum ramps from Blain's farm and fleet are good for 1250 lbs and are $100. If you need more buy more. If you are loading and unloading 20-30 times per year the ramps will outlast you if properly sized.

I have a set of fivestar ramps from Northern that I am happy with. I load an X495 Deere mower (~1k + 250Lbs of me) and they are stable.

First off, thanks again for everyone's good info! I looked at all the brands suggested and ended up with Blyth12's recommendation, Revarc brand. They trifold and have a 2,100lb rating. I bought off Ebay for $243 and free shipping. I watched a You Tube video demonstration of them and liked how they folded, also how they were strapped to the hitch. Craig
