How do I adjust bale length on a 273? I'm thinking it must be adjusting when to tell it to trip knotters, but I don't have a manual get so I'm not sure. It's making the bales short, need closer to 42 inches. Thanks

Southeast Iowa
The trip arm that activates the knotter has a ring on it with a set screw.

Move that ring higher to allow the arm to drop down farther.

Number twelve in the picture below.

The flat metal piece that is kind of a "J" shape trips the knotters when it is time to tie.

There should be a little piece that clamps on that piece with a set bolt.   You need to slide the clamp up higher to make the bale longer.  It doesn't take much movement to make a sizable change in bale size.

And be sure to tilt it clockwise as you stand on the non pickup side of baler or else it will turn itself when it falls back down.

patiently awaiting your next question because with a 273 there WILL be more questions........

NE Iowa
Your baler better not have a thrower because 42" bales and a 273 with a thrower won't work.
