Subject: Shark steamer type cleaner on ceramic tile question

Michigan
My sweetheart braved the crowds on Black Friday and purchased a Shark steamer for the ceramic tile in our kitchen and bathroom. (We currently have a Shark vacuum and very impressed with it) She vacuumed the floors first to remove the loose dirt then attempted to clean them with the steamer. After the floor dry, they feel tacky/sticky to walk on. She repeated the steam process and still sticky floors. Does anyone have suggestions as what to try? I asked if she read directions and I got the look.TIA

I was wondering about them. Could she have a cleaning product build up that might take more rounds of just steaming? I am assuming you use just water or distilled water in the steamer.

We have a shark also for our tile floors in the kitchen and baths. Our tile is just cheap builder grade with texture to them, not smooth. I have noticed the floors slightly sticky after using the shark, but it goes away. We just use filtered water in ours.

We use a shark steam mop on our hardwood floors and ceramic tiles. I've not noticed any sticky residue, but we are also careful to use hardwood cleaner that doesn't leave residue (bona). So I'm also in the camp of wondering if what you are experiencing isn't cleaning product residue....

I have a Hoover steam cleaner I use on my kitchen tile. I normally just use water & no cleaner. However the floor was extra dirty so I used some of the cleaner provided when I bought it. I found the the tile dull & felt sticky so I went over it again with just the water & it was ok. The next time I refilled the cleaner side I used less cleaner than they called for. I would suggest using less than the directions say to use & see if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the replies , she stated no cleaner was used, just water/steam. She said the cleaning pad was dirty even after the second application so it's possible that we are still removing buildup of dirt?

I think I googled it once because the steam mop makes our old refinished hardwood floors look awful. It said something about using only distilled water as your own tap water could be leaving the residue. I switched to a Norwex mop as I am not going to the store for water.
