I have about 180 acres of non-gmo corn with a dab of foxtail or panicum about 4 or 5 inches high. I am going to spray Status, Impact ,atrazine and MSO. Thought I might add some Accent. Is there a safe stage for this. Corn is V4 now.

Best before V6 or 12" corn. Can go up to V10 corn but with a much higher risk of crop injury.

First.....make sure your corn is tolerant to sulfonylurea herbicides. Some are more tolerant than others. Call your seed company if you are not sure.

Second....if you have used Counter(organophosphate) insecticide, DO NOT apply Accent

You can spray up to about 24" (extended leaf) or V6. Any thing over 24" you must used drops. You DO NOT want to get Accent down into the whorl of the corn plant when it is determining ear size! If so you will likely see "bottle necking" on the ears as a classic Nicosulfuron symptom. Scroll down this link to see examples http://www.btny.purdue.edu/Extension/Weeds/HerbInj2/InjuryHerb3.html

Also...don't spray if high temps (95 or over) and very dry conditions where corn plant is already stressed.

Just to be safe....I like to have it sprayed by V5. Any corn larger than that...put the drops on.

That's about all I can remember from my Dupont  scouting days....Consult a newer label to truth check me, and to verify tankmix of your other chems will coexist.

Ok, just rambling thoughts here but Impact should pick up some grasses for you. Also, I seem to recall that Status has Banvel in it. Something in the back of my mind says Accent and Banvel are a bad combo. Check with someone knowledgeable before you spray. Personally, I would max the rate on Impact and bump the Atrazine a little if you can. Accent is a good product but if your reaching the max height, it can bite you pretty hard. Edit, Accent has Banvel on the label, I was wrong.

Yes, Status has dicamba.....but we recommended banvel (or Clarity) quite often to be used with Accent. So it is not that chemical. At the moment Counter insecticide is the only NO-NO I can think of.

Thanks, should have looked at the label before posting, seems like I wanted to use that combination in the past and it was not recommended but must have been some thing else or some other reason.

If you use accent make sure it's accent Q it has a safe ner in it that does work I've sprayed sweet corn with it no problem status and accent does work well together makes accent work better on grass for some reason also status has same safener as accent Q should not have any trouble if your going to spray 3/4 ounce of impact I would add 1/4 ounce of accent leave status out impact will work very well on broadleafs remember to add cropoil and nitrogen

The Impact and ATz should take of your grass issue. Also if you have applied Counter don't hit it with Accent. Accent is a decent product but I considered it a last resort type rescue use only. J
