Central Minnesota | Not 100% sure the dampener will have timing marks on. I don't know if 86 series binders had them on the dampener or not. Thought it didn't happen until the 88 series. But worst case, pull that inspection cover off over your clutch housing right behind the oil filters. Take one bolt completely out, and leave the other one in loose and just slide the cover one way. Injection pump timing should be 14-18 i think. I'd have to look in the book to be sure of it.
Don't know how you took the pump off, if you lined up any marks or not. But you'll either be on top dead on #1 or #6. If your on top dead on #1 your valves should be loose on 1,2,3,6,7,10 starting from the front. So you might have to remove the valve cover if you just pulled the pump off and didn't line any marks up.
Once you find tdc, then rotate to whatever injection pump timing should be, 14 btdc? then find the mark on the shaft of your pump. Should be a small pin behind the gear, and a collar that tightens up to the gear that has your timing mark on. Slide it in and go. Could give you a long detailed explanation but i did that once a few years ago on here, and took forever to type it out. You could search for it. that might help. | |
