Wisconsin
Well, long story short, I bought a BR7060 SS, and it's been working great, except for the fact that I listened to the wrong people and didn't go with some sort of cutter system.

I'm looking at switching to either the Bale Slice or the CropCutter system. What's the difference in each system? Which one takes more HP, which one creates a better final product. I'm leaning towards Bale Slice, but simply a gut feeling.

Sumner GA, Located in southwest GA,
CropCutter has the rotor and knives in the throat to process everything, BaleSlice will simply cut only the outer layers.

FWIW, there are good pictures and a description of both systems in the online NH baler brochure. http://agriculture.newholland.com/us/en/Products/Hay-and-Forage-Equ...

Lincoln County. NC
Slice is a passive system with the crop passing through retractible stationary knives. Crop Cutter is a power driven processing system. Crop cutter adds significantly to the complexity, cost, weight , and power requirements of the baler as compared to Bale Slice.
