| We recently bought a JD 8330, we have had all sorts of problems with it, especially with the fuel system. We got it in fall 2008 and it has ~150hrs on it now just wondering if anybody else has had any problems with them. It was being built in summer 2008. |

Aurora, NC | How are your fuel filters? 2 micron is mighty small. We put extra filters on our field trailer and bulk tank. |

| we have had three new ones put on so far and two fuel pumps....glad it is under warranty.... the first time it the tractor messed up the filters were packed full with the plastic from the tank... it hasn't messed up in about 40hrs since the last fuel pump (knock on wood). I guess we got a lemon :)

Aurora, NC | We are planting with an 8330, so far so good. Our 8430 hasn't given us any trouble either.
Where are you located exactly?

| We have had a few 30 series tractors with the same issue of the pump failing after a few hours of operation. We installed the severe duty fuel/water separator kit (re251690) on the tractors and it seemed to cure the problem. Could be fuel issue or junk in the fuel tank. |

West Texas | We've got an 8430 with no problems so far. It has 1200 hrs.
Our 8230 has had something replaced on the fuel pump and has had the lift pump replaced. It still was throwing codes after all that and it turned out to be the stupid shavings in the fuel tank again. This happened several years ago on an 8420 too.
Our 4930 was throwing fuel codes too and they replaced something on the fuel pump. Then today it was throwing low fuel pressure code again. It has just over 1000 hrs. About 100 hrs on new fuel filters. We normally hardly ever have fuel filter problems. |

| the john deere mechanic said he thought it was the shavings from the tank, we haven't had anymore problems (hopefully).
NCfarmer I'm up in Southern Perquimans county... farm that good ol' clay ground |

| I went to a local john deere clinic, and they said that they had found quite a few 30 series tractors that the timing gears were 1 tooth off one way or the other. They claimed that even though the tractors ran fine after start up, they were harder starting in cool weather, and that it had something to do with the pre-mature fuel system failures. Evidently the computer on the tractor would sense that the timing was off, and try to correct it all day long. |

Brinkley, Arkansas | We got an 8430 in late October and have about 180 hours on it now. So far no problems at all. |

Quincy, IL | We had a 8330 that came in April 2008. We noticed it had a issue in the fuel system after 50 hrs. It started smoking and didn't have the power that our others did (pulling the same applicators). Initialy deere thought it was simply a few bad injectors, but to make a long story short, it was the brain box that controls the injectors. From what I understand the box was pushing fuel at the wrong time, in turn dried the cylinders and it began to make it smoke. To correct the problem, deere bolted a complete engine in spot and the tractor has 2650 hrs now. We have had to put a few new gaskets, which I warned ahead of time I probably have to do. Deere couldn't have been any better to work with. Jered |
