McCanna, ND | This is the best way I’ve found to tilt the faceplate backwards on case flagships. My bar is big enough that going forward is easy and I don’t need anything else. Just stick a appropriate sized piece of wood along the two horizontal pieces of flat stee and it gives good leverage to pry against. When did they start using springs on feeder chain tensioner? I have been wanting to do that for years

just a tish NE of central ND | Isnt there any push pull eye bolts to move that plate? Its just dumb that they didnt come up with something better or quicker....A couple of hydraulic cylinders would be nice. My 1680 has an eye bolt on each side that you can force the plate forward and backward and both my machines pivot on the bottom. My 1480 doesnt have that and needs a sledge hammer, https://www.homedepot.com/p/URREA-10-lbs-Steel-Octagonal-Sledge-Hamm...

Illinois | The midrange machines started using it with the x088 series in 2009. Not sure on the flagships, maybe before that. It does take a heck of a lot of grief away from the chain adjustment headaches on the older machines.

McCanna, ND | This is a 9120, I’m not sure if a 8010 had the springs for the feeder house chain or not. If they had a turn buckle or hyd cylinder to adjust the pitch (would be nice) but, I could see it having issues like ripping the face plate off. If someone forgot to tighten the bolts and you start pounding through the field with 11-12k lb head bad things are going to happen. Takes more time to loosen/tighten the bolts then adjust the face plate anyways, 10-15min job

Early 8010s did not have the springs, I think it was in '07 or '08 that they came about and there is a kit to retrofit them to older machines.

North Dakota | I believe they came out with it in 09. I have an 08 8010 and it didn’t have it. The next year it was offered as a kit which I purchased and replaced old system.

SW MN | My Older 580r has the turn buckle. no bolts to loosen or tighten. They will have it sooner or later. and charge $$$ for it.. I really like it to adjust the corn head angle. and I Love the MacDon's touch the button for adjustment.

Southeast Minnesota | The other day when switching from beans to corn. I use a ratchet strap from the face plate to any convenient spot under the cab.

Simple genius. 350 dollar fix that companies will charge 4 grand to buy new when they adopt it.

Eastern Shore of MD | I’m surprised they don’t have the cr set up as well. They have had threaded adjustment since 04 (I believe) for the angle of the fh. That also applies for the sprung feederhouse tensioner. On the subject, I don’t know why CNH didn’t put the 3 pt hitch mount on the Case feederhouses either. Such an easy easy to remove the whole throat of the machine.

Our first 470 Lexion was 18 years ago. We’re talking forward and rear from cab tilt. Wasn’t available until recently. 500’s had turnbuckle by hand in o5-06 era.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about also and was sure that the first time I ever crawled around a 400 series that it had it hyd adjustable from the cab. Could be losing my mind already.

South central MN | I always put the head on it, latch it, put it on the ground to take the weight off of it and loosen the bolts. Then use a magnetic angle gauge to determine header angle or deck plate angle. Use a cordless impact. This is on a 7088

North Liberty and South Bend, Indiana | CR feederhouse. Looks like the CR's should be referred to as the Flagship of the CNH harvesters as they seem to have all the goodies. (20181029_083750 (full).jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Red wrench, Have a 5088 and was wondering how you get an impact on that lower nut on left side of feeder house? Use socket extension on other nuts but the header latch bar is in way for that lower nut on that side and too tight of space to get one on nut on the inside.

Like the CR's better with the "turnbuckle" adjustment and position indicator......pretty simple!
