| So what are you guys paying to have new hydraulic hose made an ends put on? Just curious.Per foot price. Thanks |

Lisbon, OH | Just had a 3 1/2' - 3/4" ID hose with 1/2" male ends made at NAPA yesterday for a dozer. They charged me $45. Gave me a deal, because my normal fleet cost for just the parts would be about $70. Sign up with AITA, get fleet pricing at NAPA. |

South cental Ohio | Approximately half inch JIC ends ( I don't know the size in JIC terms) cost $9.53 . Hose was $6.08 a foot. then they charged $3.00 a crimp. Ridiculous !!!!! |

Swaledale, IA | Last time I went to make a hose for the sprayer O'Riellys was $120 for the same hose as CAT charged $60 for. So there is a lot of difference. Hydraulic hose is expensive anymore. I buy those cloth mesh protectors for anywhere a hose can rub anymore.

The Palouse North Idaho | If you don't need it right away, Surplus Center or Agri Supply have good prices |

| Do you have a farm plan at O'Reillys? We do, and if you tell them to put it under your farm account, it reduces the price A LOT. Anything AG related like that will work. It has even worked for a few rotors we bought for the vehicles. |

MN | Just had one done yesterday at Ziegler. Was cheaper than piecing the right fittings together on a premade hose. 1/2” hose rated for at least 3,000 psi. They charged $.36 per inch (this was a short hose) plus $7.23 per fitting for a male and female JIC. Then there’s a flat rate for hose assembly. So I paid the most per foot you’d likely see since it was only a 16” hose. The longer the hose, the less it would be since it’s a flat rate for doing it.
Total was $45 I was happy with that. Copied the exact hose it replaced and didn’t have to mess with anything.
This was the first time I had Ziegler do a hose, normally go through local fleet store. After watching them, I’ll likely never go anywhere else. Don’t think I’d really save much and they pay a lot more attention to contamination control and quality. I’ve always seen the person just blow out the hose where Ziegler actually had a special plug the blew through it to get any debris out. Also measured each crimp when done, I’m assuming to make sure it crimped properly.

NE ND | I never knew anyone did such a thing. Always had em made st the local Deere dealer. They never have blown me out, I never even thought o fit, and no measurements. But I’ve never had a problem I guess. |

Fairbury, NE (Southeast) | Yep if you are working on a project they have various lengths and sizes. Good quality hose as well. It cost 1/3 of what the local wanted. |

Cat blows a plug through the hoses, they advertised that a few years back.. |

| I buy most of my hoses online when I can wait... either pre-made standard lengths and ends or call places that custom make them. There is a place in Grand Island that makes hoses reasonably and ships same day, believe they changed their name to applied hydraulics or something. Few other good places if you google around a bit. |

NE KS | Our local guy sprays brake cleaner in the hose then blows it out before crimping the end. I had some hoses made at CAT a while back and he just blew them out, not plug. My biggest complaint about flucon and cat is they make the hoses a pinch long. I understand longer is better than too short but some of the big heavy hoses can be a bear to get in place.

MN | The guy that made my hose made it exact. He cut the hose a couple times to get it perfect. Cut it, pushed the ends to measure difference, then trimmed and doubled checked. Hose went between a hard line and the base end of a cylinder and it fit perfect. |
