NW IL, Mercer County | What do you guys run for rotor/concave settings? Our 3000 head pulls in plenty of trash and most of our grain loss is rotor loss. Any suggestions on combinations to try? Harvesting around 2000 bph |

Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle | Window the stalk rolls on the head, makes a huge difference on the amount of trash going into the machine. |

Southern Illinois | 95 r52...3000 head...10-12 on concave...rotor 250-270...bottom sieve wide open...fan wide open...clean it up with top sieve...does good for me |

SE North Dakota | Every year seems different and settings go out the window. I set it by taking a shelled cob to to cage and checking The distance between the concave and rotor bars. Should just be touching with a shelled cob when you run it in between the bar and concave. Or sometimes just keep tightening the concave up til it starts breaking cob. The leaves will just keep tumbling around in there if the concave is too loose. What machine is this? Good luck |

SeMN | 270 - 330 rotor speed. Concave, set to start breaking up cobs, then back it off a little. Most likely you aren't getting all the grain off the cob before it goes through the chopper. You don't say which combine or header size. My R66 Avgs 2500 bph with an 8 row head. Usually running 2700 to 2900 bph with very little loss. |

Walker county Georgia | Don’t forget about reverse bars. If yours dosent have any that could be why you have rotor loss. Mine has two and works excellent in corn but not as well in beans (especially green stems). Most say throw them out and put all forward bars. Then again you could have a cdf so that info would help. As far as trash my wore out hugger brings it in too |

Delaware County, IN | On our S67 with a 6 row 3000 head doing about the same 2000 BPH that you are, here's what we are doing. Rotor speed 290, concave 0.73, chaffer 19, sieve 15 I think, fan 4.3. Seems to work pretty good, looks like we've got about a bushel and a half loss, but most of that is coming from butt shelling at the head. Running a 6 row at 6mph requires pretty fast roll speed, which doesn't help butt shelling. |
